Harris Teeter trip #2

Yeah I could not resist. Had to use those coupons up they were burning a hole in my pocket.

So total was $53.75

Saved $42.93

Total OOP $10.82

Now I am going to go pass out into a deep sleep. Then I am going to stay out of the grocery stores for a while. Freezer is full cupboards are full. God is good. Goodnight.

Harris Teeter, Publix, Aldi, and K&S Market kind of day

Did a little grocery shopping today....

First stop Harris Teeter and triple coupons. They were out of alot of things I went for...no big surprise there. The good thing is most everything in this picture was free. The lunch meat and cheese were buy one get two free...everything else was $0.00.

My total was $49.86
Savings of $37.91
Total OOP (out of pocket) $11.96

Then headed on to Publix to get a few of my favorite things that just happened to be BOGO

My Publix bags were free...but I messed up on the coupons with the mustard. I thought I was getting it for free. I had just left Harris Teeter and triple coupons to $.99 and I did remember that Publix doubled coupons but I wasn't thinking cleary about the amount. Publix doubles up to $.50 and my coupon was $.75 not a big mistake but I could have done better.

Total $47.41 Savings of $28.25 Total OOP $19.16

Now off to Aldi and a few necessities.

No coupons here but baby carrots were $0.49, Milk was $2.39.

Total OOP $30.95

Last stop K&S World Market

Again no coupons but really good prices. Jerry loves these flour tortillas.

So totals for today: OOP $64.56

Without savings at Harris Teeter and Publix OOP would have been $130.72 still saved over half.

May run to another Harris Teeter tonight to see if they have any of my free stuff left. Maybe not. Little tired lots of things I need to get done tonight...but it sure is fun to get things for free...or almost free. If you need any toothpaste ...seriously call me:)

Third skirt and third blog of the day...I must have a fever:)

Hopefully just spring fever. Have I mentioned how much I love this skirt pattern?

These are becoming addictive....too easy!

Two in one day....yay! And yes I cleaned up the kitchen. Took the trash to the dump. And did a load of laundry. My in laws took Sophie this afternoon on their errands and picked up Jaden from school..... so I had a little time that I usually spend in the car to create this little red and white wonder. It's a wonder I made it:0 Now I need to go and finish sending an order into my lab, get the clothes ready for the consignment sale, and figure out what we are having for supper.

Lazy Days Skirt #2

Well today wasn't supposed to be a lazy day but I don't feel very good. So I pulled out the new fabric I bought Friday and whipped up this little skirt. Now that I have accomplished this I need to clean something:( Oh well Sophie will be happy anyway.

Spring Fling Challenge

My baby is in!

Sophie was tested today for kindergarten. Of course she did AWESOME. I never really had any doubts about it but she was a little apprehensive. Last week Jaden was trying to be Mr. Smart E. Pants and started quizzing Sophie on things that he hasn't even learned yet. He said, "Sophie, what is 4 times 2?" She did not even hestitate in answering, "8". I almost wrecked the car. Jaden said,"Mom is she right?" Yep...she's right and maybe you should know the answers to some of the questions you ask her. K. He asked me again today how Sophie knew the answer to that question so quickly...she still knows it by the way. I told him maybe the Lord just gave it to her to keep big brother humble. Sometimes Mr. Smart E. Pants gets to big for his britches just like Mrs. Smart E. Pants does. The Bible says humble yourselves...good idea... don't make the Lord have to go and do it for you!

Spring Break 2009 has begun

Spring Break began Friday afternoon at 2:40. When we arrived home from school our family had arrived for a big weekend.

Our YPG youth event was Friday night and we left early to be at church to get a seat. Jerry and I work it. He videos and I take the still pictures, I love doing it. I get a great vantage point to see everything. My sister, her 3 kids, and our Mom came for the event. The music was wonderful, Derek Arms did an great job leading everyone in worship, over a thousand people came, and Nate Binion delivered an awesome message. He (Nate) started a new website during his message. Boatbuilders.org.My friend Craig is at home creating this website probably as I type this. It is supposed to be up and running tomorrow. I know it will be great Craigs work is topnotch. The fam and I went to Sunset grill after service for a little nourishment. Was able to catch up with some friends that I haven't had a chance to talk to in forever.

There was an after party at Rockettown. My nephew went and had a blast. I would have been in attendance had I known the Clark Brothers were preforming. No one told us. Oh well...I think they would have sold more tickets had they announced that information.

Saturday my sis took the kids for the day and Mom and I did some thrifting. I found a bunch of books, couple of dresses for my little sweetie, play clothes for the boy, and a black skirt for me. Everyone met back at the house for supper. Hubby cooked his famous Cajun Fettucine Alfredo before he ran off to minister at the prison. We played Apples to Apples when he came home.

We had only one service today because of all of the preparations that went into getting ready and tearing down YPG. Bro. Binion once again delivered a timely and wonderful message. We grilled out before some of the family departed. We have 2 cousins staying with us because of Spring Break. My kids are beside themselves with pleasure. Nothing like cousins. You always have a friend when you have siblings and cousins.

My dear sweet husband took the 4 kids fishing this afternoon and allowed me a nap/bathtime. I love that man. The kids had a ball. They are all bathed and watching a movie before bed. I LOVE IT! So glad they could be together.

I am praying for sunshine and nice weather so we can get out and enjoy spring. Getting ready for tomorrows adventure!

A lovely day for a book on the grounds.

Because of the anniversary of the birth of Dr. Suess Ms. Stewart's 2nd grade class read outside today. Jaden has been looking forward to it all week. The class was very quiet and read alot during their alloted time outside. I know they were thankful to be able to breathe in fresh air and lay around on the grass.

So after writing my blog today I stumbled upon this blog about Cora. I can not even imagine what this sweet family is going through. I do not know them, but I have been mourning their loss for the past few moments. My eyes are overflowing with tears for them.

I was already thankful for my two healthy kids but now I just want to hold them and not let them leave my sight for...for...forever. Lord be with the McClenahans.

So thankful for healthy kids

Took Jaden for his yearly checkup. He was 75 pounds and 6 oz. and he was over 4.5 feet tall. The doctor told him to get out of his office because he was perfect. Thank you Lord! I am so grateful for healthy reports. Before he was born the tests showed a not so good report. I am thankful everyday that the he was healed and that when I take him to the doctor they are always amazed at how good he is doing. He is growing like a weed and eating great. He is my happy guy and brings us joy everyday! His name means God has heard us....truly God heard our prayers and delivered a million fold in this beautiful child. Sophie goes to the doctor next Monday after all the shot drama last year I thought I would spare Jaden some of the angst. His blood pressure was great...he wasn't worried about getting shots because I checked ahead of time and reassured him this would be a easy visit.
