Okay so this should have actually have been titled I keep falling. Twice in one week. I don't think I have fallen for 10 years and then suddenly within 2 days I fall twice ...bad... The first time was Thursday night before Friendship Night. Had on my little coustume and was carrying my camera, purse (the size of the state of Maine), 2 cheese balls on 2 different platters, and I think something else. When to my utter suprise I start going down. Hard. Apparently my boot caught the curb when I raised up my foot. I look myself over dust myself off and start gathering up my stuff. Shaken of course. Get inside and try to do damage control on the cheeseballs. While I am taking care of this a friend of mine says why are you cutting off part of that cheeseball. I told her what happened and that I was okay. She informed me that I was bleeding (thankfully not on the cheeseballs:0) and she would take care of them if I would go find some band-aids. Luckily our Sunday School office was prepared for a cut and scrape trauma. My elbow had most of the injury my hand and wrist are nicely scraped. Okay so not fun but I was okay. Wrenched my back a bit but nothing serious.Whatever ...I got over it... a hug from my husband who was in route at the time of the incident did the trick.
On to Saturday night...Jerry was at the prison where he helps with prison ministry. I decided I would let the kids eat downstairs and we would watch a movie together. I made soup for Jaden and myself Sophie had pizza. Sophie carried her plate on down. I loaded up a tray with 3 drinks and 2 bowls of soup. I start downstairs. I hold the tray out and watch my feet as I walk down the stairs. I pat myself figuratively on the back for doing such a good job not sloshing anything around and go down the last few steps. Well I didn't make the last step. I thought I had already arrived at my destination of the den floor. I had not. I flew out caught my foot on the bottom step as I was coming down and then landed on my crumpled left foot. The most pain for 5 minutes I have been in in a while. I rolled back and forth screaming and crying with my kids watching. I don't like to scare my kids and don't scream and cry normally when something hurts me. This time I could not help it. I told Jaden to call Jerry's mom and Dad and see if they could come up. He did so very calmly, unlocked the front door, and came back and stayed by me. I tell you it was crazy I thought I had broken something severly and then five minutes later NO PAIN! It felt a little funny but not the gut wrenching pain from a few moments before. So I called my in-laws on their cell and told them I was okay....they were in the driveway by this time so they came on down and looked us all over real good. The funny thing is I did not spill a drop of food or drink. Not one. 2 bowls of vegetable beef soup and 3 glasses of tea and not one drop out of their containers. Thank you Jesus. My ankle was sprained (slightly) and swollen but today everything is pretty much back to normal. I am thinking I need to see a chiropracter just to make sure I am aligned right. Okay so not sure why I have fallen so much this week but I will be more aware of where my feet go in the future. Be careful little (or in my case large) feet where you go.
